Every king needs a court jester so why not me?
I will juggle my heart in front of your for your amusement
And as I toss my hope in the air
I have to ensure that my expectations come crashing down;
Because all I will ever do is make you laugh.
Every king has a kingdom
Every crown it’s clown let me be yours,
If I cannot be ‘yours’ then let me come as close to being needed as I can.
I’ll wear my hat and fill you with mirth
That I may have the pleasure to relieve your stress.
I could dance a little jig or read you a verse,
Let’s laugh and forget that I’ll never be first,
That lady on your right,
At your bedside by night
But simply a distraction from impending doom,
I’ll settle for being a pastime just to be in the same room.
It’s not selling myself short if I dine with royalty,
I will wonder for always
If you live like a king,
do you love like one too?
