For the longest time I’ve been saying (both to myself and whoever bothered to ask) that I don’t exercise because I don’t like pain.
Its true!! I don’t.
Exercise makes you sore to the core!! Last week I managed to psyche myself up enough to do some squats. I had a lot of fun doing them, but a horrid two days of struggling up and down stairs because my quads where on fire!!!! (Who in the world invented working out??!!! Because I tink I want to push him off a cliff them run down to the bottom and catch him, yes it’s a love-hate relationship!!) All i could think of was ”hyoooh please kill me now”!!
Other than myself, I’m sure my brothers in particular are happy about my change of lifestyle. (Not like I was fat blob or anything.) I used to (every once in a while though few and far between) go jogging with Jerry and he would leave me by miles. I’d eventually just start walking until I finished the course. Then I’d get home and he would bang on and on about how unfit I was.
At some point, jogging used to be something I’d do with my girlfriends. We would call each other at 5am and meet at the street corner then run around the block. Eventually one of us would tire and stop coming out in the mornings. Everything would go downhill from there with people getting busy with other things and that’s how the whole “exercising phase” would die.
I stared exercising steadily from October 1st. This is week 7 and I am pleased to announce that I actually enjoy this torture called exercise.
Once you start you have to go hard. Like many things in life exercise is about perseverance.
The more I dance around to Keaira Lashae’s Reggae work out and do my squats, leg raises and crunches the more I realise that exercise really is what you make of it and your attitude largely affects how you go about it.
BUT………Exercise IS Fun!! (before you ask who I am and what I’ve done with Nala let me just assure you that it is I). It, the beast that is exercise, has become a part of my routine now and I’m actually glad I challenged myself to do it.
A lot of my deciding to do exercise instead of dieting might have a lot to do with the fact that the word diet has DIE in it. I’m not about that life, eish! I LOVE food!! Yes, yes I know abs are made in the kitchen but there’s certain things I can’t give up. Certain things like Blueberry Cheesecake for example, and Milkshakes.
Eat Healthy and Exercise and you shall live happier!!! I would have said “…live longer” but who knows you might get hit by a bus some day and then I might be done in for false advertising so I’m not about to risk my freedom like that hehehehe. =)
