It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive. If I was having coffee with you I would tell you that I am a campaigner. I believe in going for what you believe in, in being a dream chaser and finding a peace of mind.
John O’ Callighan said that the ‘what ifs’ and ‘should haves’ will eat your brains and he wasn’t far wrong. Left to reign by themselves, doubting thoughts can cripple you and make you lose sight of your end goal. I like to think that there’s a fine line between thinking realistically and doubting every decision that comes your way.
My sister maintains that life’s too short to date ugly guys, my maxim is that life is too short to not have a peace of mind. We all know that life is too short to be led by your scars, so If I was having coffee with you I’d tell you to do more that reach for the stars because life is too short to live like a cliche.
If we were having coffee I would tell you to do what you love and do it well. Never let it be said that you never tried. The graveyard is the largest collection of dreams, strive to realize yours.
I would tell you that I’ve learnt to respect the process. Life scarcely always turns out like we’ve planned but if you take it in stride and learn to adjust, to dust yourself when you fall and keep moving then you’ll be all the better for it.
